Version 2.3 of our site is up and running! Our previous version gained multiple mentions and recognition on top CCS showcase sites around the world.
This time we tried to make it even simpler, but still functional.
Feel and look We kept the layout pretty neutral, white background and dark gray typography (unlike previous version where we used different colors on titles, buttons, etc.). Our goal in this layout is that the attention would be on the portfolio (the work) and not on the layout itself. We want people to go ahead and see the work we have done for our clients without been interrupted by the design of our own site, after all “is all about the client”, isn’t it?
Functions As a good Web 2.0 site, functions are important. Not for the sake of just showing off our ability to create cool mechanisms [which we would ;) ] but for the purpose of presenting the content in an accessible way, easy to find, easy to navigate. Tools on top
We placed tools on top (Fig.1), by clicking on the logo the top section opens (slides accordion style). Here you can login, if you are a client, or change the color of the header (3 options). Option 1 is the default color showing some pastel colors in vertical fading lines. Option 2 is all blue showing some type of Windows Vista aurora effect. Option 3 is showing warmer colors, again in vertical lines.

Tabs Panel
Right under the header, we placed a quick view of our main 4 categories of services using Tabs to switch between categories without leaving the page (Fig 2). The 4 categories are: Web Design, Branding, Printed Media and Illustrations.
We might add a #5 in the future to show some quick links to recent work.

Latest Work Showcase
At the bottom we placed a slideshow that uses some JavaScript and some flash, to present some of our latest work (Fig 3).

Other minor things in the front page are a module that updates entries to our Weblog and access to some RSS syndications. Weblog
We added some features to our weblog this time. A social bookmarks component that allows Bloggers from Technorati, Newsvine, Digg, Del.icio.us, and others to ad our content in their favorites and link back. We also added a Search Cloud that bolds words based in popularity; a Top Visitors by Country indicator and a dedicated RSS engine to handle all our syndicated content for subscribers and feeds in the different networks. As you can see, our syndicated content is taking a lot more spotlight than before and that has do to with all the sites showing our content or our feeds in their systems. Portfolio
Finally, we updated our portfolio… some.
We have uploaded some of our latest work to our portfolio, and we have more, and are planning to upload more as time allows us. |
